miracle milk

Hi everyone! Late post today. Totally worth the wait though, I promise! Today I am sharing one of my biggest beauty/health secrets…turmeric milk!!! Have you ever heard of it? I first tried it when my aunt made it for me but other than that I have never heard anyone talk about it. Not sure why because it is amazing!! Some of the benefits of turmeric are:

  • Anti-inflammatory properties
  • Relief from swelling/pain
  • Anti-bacterial properties
  • FULL of antioxidants

Turmeric is definitely the star of this recipe, but the other spices have great benefits as well! Allspice can help to relieve digestive issues and reduce bloating (win!). Cloves also improve digestion and reduce inflammation. Pepper: I wasn’t sure about adding this to my drink when I first tried it but I actually don’t notice it! I’m sure it does alter the taste but it still tastes good so doesn’t bother me a bit! This spicy spice is a rich source of manganese, iron, potassium, vitamin-C, vitamin K, and dietary fiber. Aaaand last but not least cinnamon!! I add this spice to taste, it is delicious and reduces blood sugar. Even if you don’t try it for all the health benefits, this drink is seriously so yummy and my drink of choice as of late. Means a lot coming from a full time barista 😉 Recipe that I use will be at the bottom of the post!

Turmeric milk mix

  • 1 tablespoon turmeric
  • 1/2 tablespoon allspice
  • 1/2 tablespoon cloves
  • 1/4-1/2 tablespoon black pepper

Recipe (one serving)

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon agave
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon spice mix

Heat almond milk on stove along with agave, coconut oil and vanilla. Whisk in spice mix.

Am I the aunt?! With the weather turning a bit cooler, I’ve been drinking this quite a bit lately. Buonissimo! Perfect for fall!
